The Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov and Ilsur Metshin, the Mayor of Kazan, visited the facilities in the historical center of Kazan today. They inspected the TSUM building on Moskovskaya Street, 2. The Head of the republic and the Mayor inspected the quality of the reconstruction work.
For reference, renovation and construction work is currently taking place on the site, where a Center for the revival, preservation, study, and development of folk arts, crafts, and decorative and applied arts will be located. Parking is also planned, including for tourist buses.
Previously, this facility was discussed at a meeting of the Interdepartmental Commission on Urban Development in historical settlements in June this year.
Rustam Minnikhanov was presented with a project for landscaping the territory, public spaces, interior decoration, materials used, and design. The renovated building will house a lobby, a food area with national dishes on the ground floor, an educational block, a dynamic exhibition area, and other areas. The options for the placement of a blacksmith shop and a glassblowing workshop were also presented.
