I.Metshin: "34,000 planted trees is a record"
(KZN.RU, November 12, by Taisiya Basharkina) Last Saturday marked one month since the launch of the "Green Record" project. A total of 34,300 trees have been planted during the fall season in the city. It is several times more than in the past. This was stated by Deputy Head of the Kazan Executive Committee Alexandr Lobov.
While implementing “Green record”, we pay special attention to the historical center. Old-timers will recall that in the past the area was literally covered with greenery. Today we are reviving historical monuments, but without green renaissance the picture will be incomplete,” said the official.
During one month, requests for tree planting were accepted from Kazan residents. Each designated area was surveyed to determine its suitability for landscaping. In total, 618 requests were received, and to date, 78% of greening planned has been completed.
