The international architectural and construction forum Kazanysh will take place at the Kamal theater on December 5-7. Seven thousand people are expected to attend the event, and the speakers will be experts from 20 countries, including China, India, Argentina, the UAE, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, which is connected with the holding of the BRICS summit in Kazan in 2024. Ilsiyar Tukhvatullina, the chief architect of Kazan, shared details of the event.
“For the third year at the Kazanysh forum, we are engaging developers and everyone who is involved in construction. The Department of Architecture and Urban Planning, the chief architect, the Executive Committee staff are carefully preparing the program so that the topics of discussion are not only interesting, but also have practical significance for the development of our city,”- said Ilsur Metshin, the Mayor of Kazan.
This year, Kazanysh will focus on identity. This is related to the announced subject “Strengthening multilateralism for equitable global development and security” at the upcoming BRICS summit. Therefore, with the support of Ilsur Metshin, it was decided to hold a forum on the topic of reflecting the identity of Kazan. It is planned to discuss with international experts how countries fix identity and include individuality in new urban planning and architectural solutions. Among the announced speakers is Yatin Pandya, Senior Research Advisor at the Ministry of Municipal Administration of Qatar, practicing architect, founder of the FOOTPRINTS EARTH bureau.
“The venue of the event is also symbolic – the Kamal Theater simultaneously embodies the culture of Tatarstan and is an example of modern creative cooperation between different countries. A new building is already being erected next to the historical theater building, the project of which won an international competition,”- Ilsiyar Tukhvatullina explained.
In addition to identity, the forum will discuss the opening of the federal highway M-12, which will become part of the project of the international transport corridor “Europe – Western China”, once again emphasizing the role of Kazan as a bridge between East and West. Chief architects and mayors of cities adjacent to the highway are invited to participate in the discussion. In addition, it is planned to discuss the impact of transport hubs on the development of territories.
The forum participants are also invited to attend the session “Urban ecological framework as the basis for sustainable urban development”. It will be attended by architect and urbanist, who heads the bureau with branches in Beijing and Shanghai Linley, project manager of The Smart City Index Bin Bishr Aisha from the UAE and others. The topics of conditions in the city for children and the elderly, inclusion, health-saving technologies issues will be also discussed.
In total, more than 100 experts from leading architectural bureaus will speak at the forum.
