Five
hundred seventy-nine snow-cleaning vehicles will be operate on the streets of
Kazan in the coming winter. Currently, 481 units or 83% of the total number
have been prepared for work in winter conditions. Today, the Mayor of the city
Ilsur Metshin visited the territory of the Municipal Unitary Enterprise “Gorodskoe
blagoustroistvo”, which is one of the general contracting organizations for
road cleaning, assessed the readiness of machinery for the upcoming winter
season and talked with drivers.
Ilsur
Metshin inspected the vehicle fleet of the Municipal Unitary Enterprise “Gorodskoe
blagoustroistvo”, which consists of 136 vehicles. The company is the general
contractor for the maintenance of roads with an area of 4.1 million square
meters in the Aviastroitelny and Novo-Savinovsky districts. In general, the
area of cleaned roads in Kazan is about 22 million square meters, including
almost 4 million square meters of sidewalks.
“Only in
the last 5 years, the road network have increased by 1.5 million square meters
and since 2005, after the millennium of the city, by 10 million square meters.
The volume of work is growing, the number of cars is increasing, therefore
mechanized road cleaning and the availability of machinery are very
important,”- Ilsur Metshin stressed.
For the salting
of roads and sidewalks, the Municipal Unitary Enterprise purchased about 9,300
tons of sand-salt mixture and 2,600 tons of reagent. In total, 100% of the
volume of the sand-salt mixture has been harvested in the city– this is 73,800
tons, as well as 11,300 tons of two-phase reagent, it is planned to purchase
additionally 6,500 of reagent. The safety of the purchased materials is
confirmed by the conclusion of the state environmental expertise. It is
expected that 12-million sq.m area will be salted.
Since 2021,
online monitoring of the snow-cleaning work on the streets of the city has been
introduced in Kazan. According to Kamil Zakirov, director of Municipal Unitary
Enterprise “Gorodskoe blagoustroistvo”, GPS beacons connected to a unified program
are installed on all vehicles. It allows monitoring the movement of vehicles,
fuel consumption, operating time and other parameters that are transmitted to
the central computer.
On October
15, Kazan road services switched to winter mode of operation. Now, the
dispatching services of enterprises operate around the clock. The control of
cleaning the streets of the city is assigned to four general contracting
organizations.
The
preparation of seven snow melting points with a total capacity of 15.6 thousand
cubic meters per day is also being completed. With a normal amount of
precipitation, this is enough to dispose of snow. In case of the implementation
of the Buran plan, 10 temporary snow storage sites are additionally agreed
upon.
At snow
melting points on Tulskaya St. and Vorovskogo St. in the upcoming winter, a
system will be installed in test mode, thanks to which it will be possible to
track the volume of snow imported for recycling online.
The
automated access control system for snow melting points is going to be tested
on the territory of the Vakhitovsky and Privolzhsky districts of the city. The
system will record the time of entry and exit of the vehicle, as well as its registration
and tonnage.
