Today, Kazan
Mayor Ilsur Metshin inspected the progress of construction works of the Big
Kazan Ring on the site from Midhat Bulatov street to Tekhnicheskaya street. The
work is well underway on the largest road project since the Universiade.
The work on the first section of
the road completed by 90%
The new road will become an extension of Pobedy Av.
through the Solnechny Gorod district with an access to the Verkhny Kaban lake
and then to Tekhnicheskaya street. Thus, the road will connect the industrial
zone between the Volga and Kaban lakes with the residential part by the
shortest route. The construction of this part of a four-lane road with tram rails,
a junction on the Fermskoe highway, and a pedestrian crossing has become the
largest infrastructure road project since the preparation for the Universiade 2013.
“The Big Kazan Ring is one of the main traffic
arteries of Kazan. This is a very important project, which we were could implement
thanks to the Federal program “Safe and quality roads” and the assistance of Tatarstan
President Rustam Minnikhanov”, - I.Metshin noted.
In total, 7.5 billion rubles were allocated for the
construction and overhaul of the roads in Kazan this year, including 2.8
billion rubles for the construction of the section of the Big Kazan Ring.
The construction of the road on this site is carried
out in two stages. The works on a section from Midhat Bulatov str. to
Boriskovskaya str. started in July 2019. A four-lane road with a length of 800
m is being built here. The builders are constructing tram rails to Tekhnicheskaya
street, connecting which will allow to circle the tram route, reported to the
Mayor of the deputy head of the Executive Committee Igor Kulyazhev. The total
length of the ring tram route will be 34 km – this will be the longest tram
route in Russia.
To date, all work is carried out on schedule, and if
the weather is good, the construction will be completed by the end of August,
said Ruslan Musin, deputy director for construction of Glavtatdortrans. “The
work under the first stage is 90% complete. The workers performed concreting of
all the superstructures on the over-bridges, actually completing all the
concrete work on this section”, - he explained.
In March, the second stage of construction of the Big
Kazan Ring started on a 1,222 km section from the Boriskovskaya street to Tekhnicheskaya
street. According to R.Musin, as of today, 35-40% of the work has been
completed on this site. Today, work is going on in several directions there:
the reconstruction of utilities is underway, the roadway is being constructed,
sections are being prepared for tram rails and a bridge is being built across
the Monastyrskaya canal. Concrete work on the construction of supports for the
bridge has been completed, now sub-trusses and moldings are being installed,
other works are underway.
Almost a thousand large-sized
trees were planted on the site
A special feature of the construction of this section
of the Big Kazan Ring is that the landscaping of the territory is carried out at
the same time. Presently, 928 out of the planned 1044 large-sized trees have
already been planted along the road, as well as more than 2.5 thousand out of 3
thousand shrubs.
In addition to plants, a 10 km long irrigation system
and outdoor lighting networks are being installed, Igor Kulyazhev reported.
