Participants of the 45th WorldSkills Kazan
2019 Championship demonstrated to the world what level of professional skills
can be achieved at such a young age, Ilsur Metshin, Mayor of Kazan said today
at the Business Monday meeting. Rustem Gafarov, First Deputy Head of the Kazan
Executive Committee, reported on the results of the World Championship. He
reminded that the Russian national team by results of competitions took the
second place in the general unofficial medal count — team managed to win 22
medals: 14 gold, 4 silver and 4 bronze, as well as 25 medallions for excellence
Kazan
also made its contribution to the total medal count - they earned 1 silver and
1 bronze medal and 5 medallions for excellence. For the first time at
WorldSkills competition Life-cycle Management skill competence was introduced.
"It is gratifying that gold here was taken by employees of Kazan
Helicopters" - the speaker said. He also added that the national team from
the Republic of Tatarstan included 15 competitors, another 4 participants
represented Russia in WorldSkills Juniors and 15 in the Future Skills
competitions.
45th WorldSkills Kazan 2019 Championship
was held in the capital of Tatarstan from 22 to 27 August and brought together
more than 1360 competitors from 63 countries, 1300 experts and 280 thousand
fans.
“It was a magnificent show! Representatives
of youth, young people under 22 years who competed among themselves, in such an
age they are already real professionals in their work. I do not want to
distinguish someone from all 56 skills, all the guys demonstrated to the world
what level of professional skill can be achieved at such a young age”, Ilsur
Metshin said, adding that he is very happy for the national team, and
separately congratulated the representatives of Tatarstan and Kazan. The Mayor
also thanked the experts and coaches who prepared the competitors for the
championship.
