More than 10 thousand people ran in the Kazan Marathon this year
(KZN.RU, May 21). The “Kazan Marathon-2018” once again confirmed that this annual competition is becoming one of the most significant events of the city, which both residents and guests of the city are waiting for every year, said Ilsur Metshin, the Mayor of Kazan, at the Business Monday.
This year more than 10 thousand people ran in the “Kazan Marathon”. Rustam Minnikhanov, the President of the RT, Vladimir Leonov, the minister for Youth Affairs and Sports, Denis Kalinkin, the head of the Executive Committee, Damir Fattakhov, the first deputy head of the Executive Committee, and other officials took part in it. Also, such celebrities as Tina Kandelaki, the general producer of the federal sports channel “Match TV”, Rodion Gazmanov, a singer, Ahmet Siraziev, a multiple world champion in cross-country skiing and running among veterans, and others.
Among the leaders of the republic and the city, the only one who ran the entire distance of 42 km for a record time of 3 hours and 16 minutes was Denis Kalinkin, the head of the Executive Committee. The head of the city congratulated D. Kalinkin and thanked the organizers, participants and spectators of the marathon. “A sound mind in a sound body. Let's hope that this will allow us to overcome difficulties confidently and outstrip time and events for the benefit of Kazan and its residents”, said the Mayor.
