(KZN.RU, April 26). The renovated building of the Kazan Tatar State Theater of the Young Spectator named after G. Kariev was opened in Kazan. The theater is located in the reconstructed cinema “Pobeda”, also known as the House of Officers.

The Kazan Tatar Theater of Young Spectator named after Gabdulla Kariev founded in 1987. It was opened as the Tatar theater-studio under the Ministry of Education. Later it was located in the former building of the Alafuzov’s “Worker Theater” in the Kirovsky district of Kazan.
Since 2015, the building of the former House of Officers has been repaired. As reported in the RT GTRI, the reconstruction project provided the maximum preservation of the architectural appearance of the existing building with the construction of a 2-storey attach on both sides of the auditorium to accommodate offices, industrial and technical premises, reports the GISU RT.
There are technical rooms and a room for technical staff in the basement part of the building. A cash desk and an auditorium for 231 seats were created on the first floor. According to the project, office space, rehearsal room, workshops and recording studio are on the second floor.
During the renovation of the building, facades were warmed and repaired, the roof and engineering systems were replaced, a system of automatic fire-extinguishing and the elevator for the disabled were established. The specialists have restored and preserved the original stucco of the main facade of the building and the ceilings in the foyer of the theater. In addition, modern equipment was installed and new furniture was purchased.
The President of the RT inspected the renovated building, and also watched the stage performance of the artists in honor of Gabdulla Tukay's birthday. Rustam Minnikhanov noted that the idea to place the theater named after G. Kariev in this building and repair it was the right one. He drew attention to the fact that now the theater is located in the heart of the city, next to the puppet theater “Ekiyat” near Kamal Theater. “We talk a lot about our nation, about the language. If there is no theater, how the language can survive?”, noted R. Minnikhanov. According to him, the performances, which are staged in the Tatar Youth Theater, should attract young people. The head of the republic also wished success to the theater, noting that there are all conditions for work.
Today, on the Day of Mother Language, Rustam Minnikhanov, Ilsur Metshin, and others laid flowers to the monument of Tatar poet and publicist Gabdulla Tukay.
