(KZN.RU,
August 4, Alsu Safina). Ilsur Metshin, the Mayor of Kazan, inspected today the
reconstruction progress of the House of Culture named after Lenin, which will
be restored in the style of Soviet neoclassicism and the Stalin Empire. For
today, the work is complete by 75%. It is planned to finish it in late
September – early October. The Mayor of Kazan urged the contractors to perform
all the work in a quality and in accordance with technology. According to the
Mayor, the renovated cultural and recreational complex will become a real gift
not only for the residents of the Aviastroitelny district but whole Kazan.
Oleg
Novoselsky, the CEO of the contractor OOO “Vostok-S”, told the Mayor that the
contract for the works was concluded on May 3, and the work has been carried
out at the facility since then. “Readiness is about 75%. Roof and perimeter
walk are made, stairs are restored. We are at the finish line”, Oleg Novoselsky
told Ilsur Metshin.
It is worth
noting that the House of Culture named after Lenin is an identified object of
cultural heritage. Azat Abzalov, the head of the Department of Culture, said
that all works here are held with special trepidation and attention. “We went
here with the Ministry of Culture of the RT several times. Svetlana Persova,
the deputy minister of Culture of the RT, supervises the construction work. The
facade solutions are coordinated, and all the objects of protection are identified”,
A. said Abzalov.
Irina
Aksenova, the project architect, the director of the house-museum of V.
Aksenov, called the facility a unique one. “Fortunately, the object has
survived to sufficient measures. Many things, remained here, are typical for the
middle of the last century”, said the project architect.
For
example, luminaires, made of brass and copper by using classical technologies,
are of interest. As it turned out, most of the chandeliers preserved and still
can function but some of them need restoration. During the discussion, the
Mayor of Kazan suggested to clean and repair them if possible so that they
decorate the main halls and rooms of the complex.
Ilsur
Metshin was also shown samples of individual interior elements and materials to
be used. In particular, the options for polishing flooring solutions were
presented. Also, the parquet in the complex will be restored. “The floors have
maintained functionality and load-carrying capacity even in 50 years”, noted
the Mayor.
Among other
things, windows in the building will be updated. The Mayor drew attention to
the window bolts that were in those days. They will be on the new windows as
well. Also, new oak doors will be installed in the building.
In the
course of the reconstruction, the cinema for 200 persons will undergo changes.
Irina Aksenova said that archival data was found describing the colors, in
which it was planned to decorate it in the 1950s, as well as fragments of dark
blue curtains. It is assumed that the cinema will be close to the standards of
“Dolby” (multi-channel sound).
The sports
hall will also be updated, where the bar floor will be preserved and the
elements of that era will appear in the form of different art objects.
As for the
concert hall for 800 persons, it is well preserved, according to the architect
of the project. She drew attention just to the chairs, the ergonomic parameters
of which do not meet the current requirements.
Among the
things found during the work, there were portraits of state and political
figures G. Malenkov, M. Kalinin, and S. Kirov, as well as interesting equipment
of the last century: gramophones, amplifiers, etc. All this will be put in the
interior of the renovated cultural and leisure complex.
The opening
of new directions of studies is planned. The modern sports hall will allow
developing sports sections. In addition, it is expected to open a multimedia
school-studio and the center of aesthetic development of the children, and a
zone of co-working will appear.
“You never
know what you can do till you try. We see what has already been done and how it
will look after the completion. This is a huge gift not only to the
Aviastroitelny district but to the whole city”, believes Ilsur Metshin. He
noted that the facility is next to the subway station so residents of different
districts will be able to visit the House of Culture named after Lenin. He
thanked the President of the RT for the decision he made on the reconstruction
of the HoC. “We see very promising prospects in the revival of the House of
Culture”, noted I. Metshin.
“It is
necessary to complete everything by the end of September in accordance with all
the technologies”, said the Mayor to the contractors. He marked that all work
should be performed in a high-quality manner.
The
decision to overhaul the House of Culture was taken by Rustam Minnikhanov, the
President of Tatarstan, last September. According to the order of the Cabinet
of Ministers of the RT, 349 million rubles was allocated for the reconstruction
of the facility. The customer of the works was GKU “GISU RT”.
