June 9, Anton Nozdrin). New names have been added to the Kazan Book of Honor.
The corresponding decision was made at the meeting of the Presidium of the
Kazan City Duma in the City Hall, chaired by Ilsur Metshin, the Mayor of Kazan.
Thus, those present noted the merits of the OAO Kazan Plant “Electropribor”,
the Kazan Aviation Plant named after S. Gorbunov and the branch of PAO
“Tupolev”, and Vadim Keshner, a People's Artist of the Russian, the drama
artist of the Kazan Academic Russian Grand Drama Theater named after V.
Kachalov.
Lyudmila
Andreeva, the secretary of the Kazan City Duma, presented the OAO Kazan Plant
“Elektropribor” as a candidate for the inclusion. This year the company
celebrates its 100th anniversary. The plant made a great contribution to the
development of the city during the years of its existence, took part in city programs,
in particular, in the construction of houses, kindergartens, and polyclinics,
noted L. Andreeva. It was proposed to put the “Elektropribor” in the Kazan Book
of Honor “for a significant contribution to the development of domestic
engineering”.
The second
candidate was Kazan Automobile Plant named after S. Gorbunov and the branch of
the PAO “Tupolev”. L. Andreeva noted that the enterprise will celebrate its
90th anniversary in 2017. “The plant contributed much to the development of
Kazan. It has built houses, kindergartens, schools, and urban facilities,
invested heavily in the restoration of the park “Krylya Sovetov”. The
enterprise lives an active life of the city”, said the secretary of the Kazan
City Duma and suggested that the plant is to be included in the Book of Honor
“for a significant contribution to the development of domestic aircraft
construction”.
It was also
proposed to include Vadim Keshner, a People's Artist of Russia, and the drama
artist of the Kazan Academic Russian Grand Drama Theater named after V.
Kachalov, in the Book of Honor “for a significant contribution to the
development of theatrical art”. “He has been working in the theater for almost
60 years and has made a great contribution to the development of art and
theatrical activities. He is a very active public person, an actor, loved by
Kazan citizens”, said Lyudmila Andreeva.
The members
of the Presidium voted for adding new names to the Kazan Book of Honor.
Traditionally, all awards will be presented on August 30, the Day of the City.
