March 1). Today, Rustam Minnikhanov, the President of Tatarstan, took part in
the open lesson of ecology, which was held in Kazan gymnasium №3 in the
framework of the republican campaign “Ecological lesson”.
Engel
Fattakhov, the deputy Prime Minister of the RT and the Minister of Education
and Science of the RT, Ilsur Metshin, the Mayor of Kazan, Artem Sidorov, the
head of the Federal Service for Supervision of Natural Resources, Farid
Abdulganiyev, the minister of Ecology and Natural resources of the RT, Farid
Khairutdinov, the head of the Rosprirodnadzor, also attended the event.
In his
welcoming speech, the head of Tatarstan emphasized the need for further
development of environmental education of Tatarstan students.
“We have
technical, chemistry, and physics high school. There has to be ecological
lyceum, too”, said Rustam Minnikhanov. He also added that the director of the
gymnasium №3 plans to create an environmental class on the basis of one of the
buildings of the school. “It will be possible to promote these developments in
our other schools in the example of yours”, he said.
Rustam
Minnikhanov also spoke about the construction of the incinerator plant in
Kazan. He noted the positive experience of Japan on the application of a waste
management technology.
During the
meeting, Kazan schoolchildren, winners of republican and Russian environmental
competitions, presented their environmental projects.
So, Anna
Chazova, a student of 11 grade of the school №72, prize-winner of the
All-Russia Olympiad in ecology 2016, made a presentation, in which voiced
recommendations for improvement of the Kazanka River. According to a young
researcher, the recent plague of fish and ducks associated with the mass
development of blue-green algae and, as a result, deterioration of water
quality. To avoid such situations in the future, Anna Chazova offered to ban
the use of detergents with phosphates, which promote the rapid development of
toxic algae, and also to work on the conservation of macrophyte islands and
partly on the banks of the Kazanka River to bind nutrients.
In addition
to projects and student presentations, Rustam Minnikhanov got acquainted with
the programs “School eco-patrol” and “Eco-City”, reports the Tatarstan
Government Portal.
The
President emphasized the importance and necessity of such projects for
Tatarstan. “The environment is a special quality of life”, said R. Minnikhanov.
“Neither medicine or sports will help if our environment will not meet the
right criteria. I believe that this is very important. All these issues must be
considered from childhood, from school”.
