January 27). Results of the transport complex of the republic in 2016 were summed
up and the tasks for 2017 were discussed at the expanded board meeting of the
Ministry of Transport and Roads of Tatarstan, which was held in Nizhnekamsk
today.
Rustam
Minnikhanov, the President of Tatarstan, Maxim Sokolov, the Minister of
Transport of Russia, Igor Levitin, the Assistant of the Russian President,
Ilsur Metshin, the Mayor of Kazan, Lenar Safin, the Minister of Transport and
Road Management of the RT Aidar Metshin, the Head of Nizhnekamsk Municipal
District, and others took part in the board.
The
President of Tatarstan noted that the implementation of major investment
projects in the petrochemical industry continues in the Zakamskaya region of
the republic. A significant event was the launch on “TANECO” delayed coker. In
the nearest future it is planned to put into operation a complex of deep
processing of heavy residues “TAIF-NK” and the installation of primary oil
refining “EDP-AVT-6” with capacity of 6 million tons per year. In addition,
construction of a new production of the ethylene EP-600 is in the plans.

Minnikhanov noted upgrading capacity at the plant “KAMAZ”, the expansion of
production of cars and car parts on enterprises “Ford-Sollers” in the
machine-building complex of the republic. In addition, the SEZ “Alabuga” and
the plant fertilizer “Ammonium” are located in the “InnoKama”. “All this
requires a reliable transport security, both road and rail”, said the President
of Tatarstan.
According
to R. Minnikhanov, the most important project in the development of the road
network is the construction of the international route “Europe - Western
China”. Thanking Maxim Sokolov for assistance in this study, the President
proposed to approve the route, which runs through the territory of Tatarstan.

Minnikhanov also noted that the increase in the tourist flow is observed in
Tatarstan. More and more guests visit the ancient town of Bolgar and island
town Sviyazhsk. Dredging of water approaches to the docks has been conducted
over the past 2 years with the support of the Ministry of Transport of Russia
in order to promote water transport among tourists (cruise ships).
Much work
is carried out in Tatarstan in development of the road sector. Last year,
hundreds of kilometers of roads were built and repaired, dozens of settlements
connected by paved roads. “The Republic fully complies with its obligations to
the federal government. This year we will continue the implementation of all
the programs in the transport sector”, concluded the President of the RT.

Rustam Minnikhanov presented state awards of the RT to particularly
