The first filling station in the VFD of the concern “Shell” started to work in Kazan

(KZN.RU, October 5). The first filling station of the concern “Shell” in the Volga Federal District started to work in Kazan. Rustam Minnikhanov, the President of Tatarstan, Ilsur Metshin, the Mayor of Kazan, Farid Abdulganiyev, the minister of Ecology and Natural resources of the RT, Timur Alibaev, the head of the Aviastroitelny and Novo-Savinovsky districts administration, Ishtvan Capitani, the executive vice-president of the concern “Shell”, and others participated in the opening ceremony of the object.

Rustam Minnikhanov noted that even a cursory glance at the gas station shows it as the modern and environmentally friendly facility. The head of Tatarstan also marked that “Shell” is the world's largest company, which is successfully operating in Russia by the largest oil and gas projects. “I believe that the standards of the group are the kind of level that will help us to improve other gas stations of the country. I congratulate colleagues and investors on the project realization. I hope this is the beginning of a long journey”, concluded R. Minnikhanov.

Ishtvan Capitani, the vice-president of the concern “Shell”, thanked Rustam Minnikhanov for participation in the work to promote the project. He also noted that more than 43 thousand gas stations of “Shell” located around the world, and the gas station in Kazan is one of the best among them, built with the latest technology.

The opening ceremony ended with the first symbolic refueling of a car, and invited guests signed a branded barrel of fuel.

The gas station “Shell” in Kazan has a system to capture and recovery of petrol vapor, which minimizes the amount of harmful emissions into the atmosphere. All gas stations, which will continue to open in the RT, will be equipped with such systems. The company plans to open 55 filling stations in the country, which will provide jobs for more than 1,000 people.
