KZN.RU, May 23). On May 23, at Tatarstan Government House, Tatarstan President
Rustam Minnikhanov had a meeting with members of the delegation of the
Austrian-Russian Friendship Society led by General Secretary of the
Society Florian Sterman. The meeting was attended by Mayor of Kazan Ilsur
Metshin.
Welcoming
the guests, Minnikhanov thanked the leadership of Austria for arranging the
visit and extanding a warm welcome to Tatarstan delegation in Vienna (May
11-13, 2016).
“We are
interested in adopting experience of our colleagues from Vienna in matters of
urbanism, organization and development of urban economy,” Minnikhanov pointed
out.
According to
him, it is important to build up and strengthen contacts between Tatarstan as a
Russian region and Austria in business, establisign joint ventures, cultural,
scientific and educational exchange, and the tourism industry.
Minnkhanov
said that for over twenty years Austrian-Russian Friendship Society has been
making a significant contribution to the development of the Austrian-Russian
relations and is a link between the two countries.
In his turn
Florian Sterman thanked Tatarstan President for a warm welcome extended to
Ausrtian delegation in Kazan and expressed his confidence that relations
between Tatarstan and Austria will be strengthened, including in the field of
entrepreneurship and business cooperation.
Minnikhanov
also suggested creating a working group to work out specific issues and areas
for cooperation.
Earlier the
Deputy Head of the municipal formation of Kazan Eugeniya Lodvigova held a
meeting with delegation of the Republic of Austria. As a result the participants
agreed on the mutual exchange of experts in the field of economy and housing
and communal services of cities Wels and Kazan.
