Status of ambassador of "Russian Student Spring" was assigned to Ilsur Metshin

(Kazan City KZN.RU, May 18). Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin was elected as ambassador of the "Russian Student Spring" today. This status was given to the head of the city at a meeting with participants of the festival, which was held in CSC of KFU "Unix". Kazan Mayor became the first mayor in the history of the All-Russian Festival, who was awarded this title.

Recall All-Russian stage of the festival "Russian Student Spring" is held in Kazan from 15 to 20 May. It is attended by more than 3,000 students from 74 regions of the country.

The Mayor welcomed the guests and participants of the festival. "We are very happy that Kazan continues to be a center of student life in Russia. Looking at your faces, I remember how we once defended the honor of our university among the higher education institutions of the republic at this festival. It was a real holyday for us", - said I. Metshin.

The Mayor also said that today "Student Spring" reminiscent of the days of the Universiade-2013. "There is the same atmosphere of friendship, creativity and unconditional freedom. I wish you a good time in our city and come back here again and again"- Ilsur Metshin addressed to students. He wished all the guys to maintain a sense of humor and enjoy the students life. "Being students, we lived very bright and full life, and I wish you the same. This is a golden time for everyone, enjoy it and be happy,"- the Mayor continued.

Participants and guests of the festival talked with Kazan Mayor, asked a lot of questions which interest and even played a few games. Many students pointed out the beauty of Kazan and talked about the intention to come back again with their friends.

The Mayor noted that in Kazan many different activities are constantly carried out, including very spectacular, such as "Kazan Bicycle Night", which will be held this Saturday. "We are working to increase the tourist potential of the city, so it is deliberated policy for us. I am sure that you will find a lot of interesting events on the city portals, and I will be happy if you decide to go back to our hospitable city", - Ilsur Metshin invited the guys.

He also noted that Kazan is a city where a lot of attention is paid to education and the students. "We strive to be leaders in everything, including in education. Apart from Moscow and St. Petersburg, Kazan is the only Russian city, where there are four federal universities, and this is also the subject of our pride - I. Metshin said. - But in order to move forward, we need creative, talented and willing to change the world young people around. Therefore if one of you will decide to move to Kazan - we will be very happy".

At the end of the meeting assignment of status of ambassador of "Russian Student Spring" has been presented to the Mayor of Kazan. According to the director of the festival Irina Karikh, Kazan becomes the venue for this major festival not for the first time, and perhaps will bring together the most talented and active representatives of the Russian youth more than once. The winners of this year's festival will be announced on May 19 at the closing ceremony in the basketball sports facility "Basket-Hall".

The meeting was also attended by First Deputy Head of the city Executive Committee Damir Fattakhov, Deputy General Director of JSC "Kazmetrostroy" Irshat Minkin, acting head of Committee for Children and Youth Affairs Irina Bochkova and other guests.
