XVI Russia (IX Kazan) Venture Fair opened in Kazan
(Kazan City KZN.RU, 27 April). The XVI Russian (XI Kazan) Venture Fair opened in Kazan. Solemn ceremony held at the HTEC "Corston" was attended by President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov and Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin. Also the participants were welcomed by the Russian President's aide Andrei Fursenko.
After the opening ceremony the guests visited the exhibition fair, which presented infrastructure of support of innovation in Tatarstan, RT Government Portal reported. 55 innovative companies will present their projects. Recall that the most promising ones will be accelerated in international program that started this year.
To participate in the program of acceleration and the fair 378 applications from start-ups from 37 Russian cities and 15 countries were received. The event attended by companies from Moscow, Kazan, St. Petersburg, Samara, Kaliningrad and other Russian cities as well as Baku (Azerbaijan). Industrial, oil and gas, medical, biotech, IT-projects, as well as start-ups, dealing with new material, are presented.
Recall Venture Fair is held annually in Kazan since 2005. It is organized by Tatarstan Investment and Venture Fund and the Russian Venture Capital Association (RVCA). In the entire history of the Kazan Venture Fair more than 700 investors from Russia and foreign countries, 488 exhibitors, 8,600 participants from 70 cities of Russia and 30 foreign countries (annually up to 1500) took part in this event.
