(KZN.RU, May 28, by Taisiya Basharkina). The performing groups of the Shigabutdin Marjani Tatar gymnasium №2 of the Moscow District and school №177 of the Novo-Savinovsky District became the absolute winners of the fourth Kazan festival of educational institutions "The Big Break”. The winners received 1 million rubles as prize money.
The winners of "The Big Break" were named at the gala festival in the "Pyramid" nightclub. The Mayor of Kazan Il’sur Metshin and guests from Moscow - the composer Igor Krutoi and stage designer Boris Krasnov – greeted the participants of the festival and congratulated the winners.
The scale of this year’s festival was impressive: it was attended by more than 25 thousand students of Kazan, 21 schools reaching the finals. The finalists presented remarkable numbers: a fashion show featuring clothes made of plastic, cardboard and polythene; “pirate” dancing, virtuoso saxophone and kurai solos, genuine Sabantuy and circus performances featuring a laser show.
The award ceremony was m.c.’d by Igor Krutoi. He invited all the finalists to take part in the qualifying rounds of children’s "New Wave" in the "Artek" summer camp.
It may be recalled that the first festival was held in 2008 at the initiative of the Mayor of Kazan. This unique project is the launching pad for the involvement of Kazan’s students in the creative life of the city. In the future, the budding artists will be able to show off their talents in the popular youth festivals "Constellation", “The Day of the Freshman", "Spring Raindrops" and "Student Spring".
