Modern snow removal protects Kazan metro from flood
(KZN.RU, February 14, Renat Shirmanov). All municipal institutions must be ready for the spring flood and minimize its consequences. Ilsur Metshin has paid attention to it at the Business Monday.
Especially he was concerned about Kazan metro readiness to meet flood, namely two stations – Ploshyad Tukaya and Sukonnaya Sloboda.
“The problem with Sukonnaya Sloboda metro station is that melt waters drain abundantly from Vishnevskiy street. If we remove snow from the street so we will be fully ready for spring”, Asfan Galyalov, the Head of MUE Metroelektrotrans noted.
Emil Zaripov noted that last year’s flooding of Ploshyad Tukaya station was caused by downpours. “Now curbs have been built up on the station, so melt snow will not cause problems”, the principal engineer of MUE Metroelektrotrans assured.
There are no reasons to worry about the stations under construction, the experts consider. All stations are equipped with special pumps.
Also the tunnel from Kremlyevskaya to Kozya Sloboda station doesn’t cause any problems since it has a good security system.
“Kazan historically situated in the underflooding area so the anti-flooding plan must be carried out rigorously and one of the main points is a removal of snow from the city”, Ilsur Metshin summed up.
