(KZN.RU, January 14, by Renat Shirmanov). The first lekoteka (curetheque) in Tatarstan is to appear in Kazan soon. An ad hoc group for the psycho-pedagogical support for families with children with developmental problems will be placed in preschool No.12, located in the Novo-Savinovsky District. Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin inspected the construction site today.
Preschool No. 12 is located in the square on S.Hakim Street near "Istanbul" garden. This neighborhood is growing fast and is heavily populated, so the building of a preschool here is necessary. According to the head of the Office of Education, Ilsur Khadiullin, there are about 500 children on the waiting list.
"The concept that I presented has been ready for a long time. Lekoteka is a separate, short stay group for children with disabilities and their parents. This will be the first lekoteka in Tatarstan. I am being trained in this field in St. Petersburg, studying the existing experience," said the new preschool director Rimma Galiyeva.
" Here, families will be assisted by experts – speech therapists, psychologists and psychiatrists. Children with disabilities will study together with their healthy peers. This will help children with disabilities socialize and promote tolerance among their peers towards people with disabilities," said Rimma Galiyeva .
At the end of the meeting, the Mayor of Kazan commissioned improvement of the adjoining territory.
