I.Metshin: "We'll do everything possible to host the Rubin vs. Chelsea match in Kazan"
(KZN.RU, March 20, by Taisiya Basharkina) The Kazan Central Stadium is fit for the Europa League quarter-final. This was stated by Kazan Mayor Ilsur Metshin at today's meeting with a UEFA representative Conor Nolan.
The UEFA expert assessed the Central Stadium football field readiness for the Rubin vs. Chelsea Europa League quarter-finals match. Such assessment takes place annually on the eve of the first European competition home game.
The match between the Kazan and London football teams will be held April 11. Today, Conor Nolan took photographs and examined the state of the pitch. The data will be sent to the UEFA, where the final decision on the venue of the match will be made. Mr. Nolan himself noted that the game could be played there right away.
"We have sufficient experience: the Kazan stadium hosted numerous world-class games, including six Champions League and ten Europa League matches. And we will do everything possible to host this game in Kazan. In two weeks, the Central Stadium will be ready," Ilsur Metshin assured the inspector.
