The
construction of the Archery Center at the Tasma Sports School in Kazan is
almost completed. The venue will welcome the first athletes in September. The
Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin inspected the progress of construction.
«I want to
thank the Rais of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov for his support. Now we are
checking the finishing works before his visit. But it is already obvious that
this is a wonderful gift for those who practice archery and other sports», –
said Ilsur Metshin.
The first
specialized archery center in Tatarstan will allow athletes to train all year
round. The two-storey complex with an area of over 6,200 square meters combines
a training base and an arena that meets the requirements of major tournaments.
In the future, Kazan will be able to host Russian and international
competitions here.
There will
be a large arena measuring 96 by 51 meters. It will allow conducting training classes
and competitions at different distances: from 18, 50, 70 and 90 meters.
The arena
allows 64 archers to train at the same time. The center is designed for 100
people per shift and up to four shifts per day.
The center will
have premises to check the flexibility of the arrows, adjust the tension of the
bowstring and measure the strength of the bow. Time-lapse cameras will be used
to analyze the technique of the archer.
Photos of
trainees and graduates of the school, participants in competitions who have
achieved high results, will be posted on the walls.
One of the
photo will be dedicated to Daria Oreshnikova, one of the best students of
Tasma, an international master of sports and a European champion.
«You are
still young, but now you are already a young and titled coach. You have won
titles both at Russian and international competitions, and glorified Kazan and
Tatarstan. Thanks to athletes like you, the decision was made to build this
Archery Center. We hope that you will train new champions here», – Ilsur
Metshin emphasized.
