The renovation of yards under the Our Yard program has been completed by 90% in Kazan

Road works under the Our Yard program have been completed at 274 yards, landscaping continues at another 119 sites. The program implementation in the city has reached 90%. The territory of residential buildings at 56, 58 and 60 Pobedy Avenue is being transformed as part of the program. More than 1,400 people live in three nine-storey buildings there. More than 540 meters of sidewalks and over 800 square meters of footpaths have been laid, 40 modern lighting poles, five playgrounds and sports grounds are being installed. The Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin took part in the visiting meeting.

“I remember this yard well. When I was a student, I lived here. This is the second major renovation of the building in 35 years. However, now it is a completely different scale. The landscaping is taking place in dialogue with the residents. I know that the residents here are pro-active, and there is always feedback. I hope that after the renovation, you will take good care of this property,”-said Ilsur Metshin. 

The yard at the intersection of Pobedy Avenue and Richard Zorge Street unites three nine-storey houses, in which more than 1,400 people live. Quite recently, this yard had worn asphalt pavement, poor lighting, broken sidewalks and outdated playgrounds. 

Presently, the renovation is 60% completed. More than 30 workers and 5 vehicles are engaged at the site every week. The builders have already dismantled the old pavement, replaced the curbs, laid the bottom layer of asphalt concrete and started installing the play complexes. At the front, the finishing layer of asphalt is laid, the paving of walking areas with paving stones and the installation of small architectural forms. 

The project provides for creation a comfortable pedestrian environment. The routes of the new sidewalks, with a total length of more than 540 meters, were designed taking into account the wishes of the citizens. They will connect residential buildings with a kindergarten, school and public transport stops. 

Over 4,300 square meters of driveways, 3,300 square meters of existing sidewalks are being renovated and over 800 square meters of new pedestrian paths are being laid. The central walking route will be paved with paving stones to make the yard convenient and beautiful.
