Renovation of school № 89 on Akademika Lavrentieva Street is carried out as part of the Youth and Children national project. It is planned to complete the renovation work by September. Presently, the renovation is competed by 60%. The Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin inspected the progress of the repair work.
“We pay close attention to the infrastructure of educational facilities. The plans include renovation of three schools and the modernization of eleven school canteens. New format of school restaurants will allow children to eat tasty and balanced meals. Investing in school infrastructure is an investment in our future, in our children. It is important that they receive a decent education in comfortable conditions, and that teachers work in a high-quality atmosphere. We will continue this important work. This year we are completing major repairs, and by the beginning of the school year we will open the Teacher's House – this will be a gift to our teachers,”- said Ilsur Metshin.
The school № 89 was built in 1984. Separate repairs have already been carried out at the school: in 2020, the roof was partially repaired, and in 2019, the canteen was renovated.
“We have been waiting for this renovation for more than 40 years. The utilities were already badly worn out and needed to be replaced. We are very pleased with the start of large–scale work. I am sure that after the renovation, the school will decorate our neighborhood,”- said Alla Nikiforova, principal of school.
The renovation project includes a wide range of engineering and construction works: replacement of the roof, window blocks and doors, repair of the entrance group and renovation of the first floor, modernization of utilities (heating, water supply, sewerage), including basements and overhaul of 12 restrooms.
