Ilsur Metshin inspects new high-tech durable public transport stops

The Mayor of Kazan was presented with a new public transport stops. The new shelters not only protects passengers from the weather, but also are equipped with digital scoreboards. In the near future, eight such stops will be installed at five city districts. Advertising companies will be responsible for the maintenance of the stops in exchange for the right to place ads on the built-in pylon. 

“The city of Kazan was one of the first to introduce the new format of work on the advertising market. We literally put things in order, which became an example for our whole country. We were actively involved in adjustment of legislation with our colleagues from the federal government. Meanwhile, the business itself was growing. Our interaction with advertising companies is a good example of a dialogue between business and authorities. As many as 466 public transport stops have already been installed in the city, for the maintenance of which the city does not spend budget money. Advertising companies cover the maintenance. Today we looked at the new comfortable public transport stops, they are equipped with online scoreboards and security cameras. We are providing better services for our population,”- said Ilsur Metshin. 

DiMedia company from Tyumen, which supplies its products to various cities of the country, is engaged in the production of new public transport stops. They chose the base of the RIM media group as a regional partner as a platform for demonstrating their products in Kazan. The canopies are designed taking into account the weather conditions of the region and vandal-proof requirements. According to the manufacturer, the stops will last up to 25 years. 

The frame is made of corrosion–resistant aluminum and does not require annual painting, and the glazing is made of durable eight-millimeter tempered glass. The digital scoreboard will display the current schedule, weather forecast, the name of the stop in Russian, Tatar and English, as well as the arrival time of the transport in real time. 

A bench made of durable plastic is equipped with USB charging for gadgets, and in the future, the stops are planned to be equipped with video surveillance cameras and Wi-Fi. One of the most important features is the lighting inside the canopy, which makes it more comfortable in the dark.
