The Day of Russia will be celebrated in Kazan in a big way. The program includes the Russian Triathlon Championship, patriotic events, the Mosaic of Cultures festival, and performances of the Russian pop-groups Korni, Sova and Firdus Tyamaev at the Kazan Family Center. Aliya Zagidullina, Head of the Department of Culture, spoke about the program of events at the Business Monday meeting.
“In the current political situation, the Day of Russia has acquired a new meaning. This holiday has stopped being just a young public holiday. This is not only a reason to be proud of the past and present, but also a reminder that the well-being, security and development of a country depend on the unity of its residents, on the creative work and responsibility of every citizen. On this day, we celebrate not only Russia, but also the people. First, these are those who today defend our country in the special military operation, as well as all those who, in their place – at school, hospital, factory, driving public transport, in various companies and institutions – are working for the benefit of Russia, preventing it from shaking under unprecedented external pressure. We all have to work hard for the prosperity of our country,”- Ilsur Metshin said.
Various events will take place in the city. On June 10 and 11, concert programs will take place in Krylia Sovetov, Uritsky Parks, Avangard Square and Sovetskaya Square. Activists of the Young Guard of United Russia will unfurl the flag of the Russian Federation at the Kazan Family Center. On the Day of Russia, the Kazan Kremlin will host the opening of the summer labor season of student groups of the republic of Tatarstan, followed by the annual concert of the winners of the Constellation- Yoldyzlyk Art Festival.
The Mosaic of Cultures Festival will open at the Kazan Kremlin at 11:00 am. The main venue of the celebration will be at the Kazan Family Center, where the event “I am a citizen of Russia” will take place. A big concert in honor of Russia Day will begin at 4:00 pm at the Kazan Family Center.
The headliners of the event will be Firdus Tyamaev, as well as Korni and Sova.
Russia Day will end at 10:00 pm with fireworks over the Kazanka River.
