In Kazan, industrial accident rate fell by 14% compared to the same period last year. However, despite this positive trend, the number of fatalities remains high, reported Ildar Shakirov, Deputy Head of the Executive Committee of Kazan
«We have repeatedly stated that labor protection issues should be as important as economic indicators. Based on the work of the Coordinating Council, we can see that many systematic efforts are being made, and we are seeing results: the number of industrial accidents has decreased to 26 from 37 last year. However, as long as such accidents continue to occur, causing deaths and injuries, this issue remains crucial and needs to be constantly monitored», - said the Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin.
In the past 10 months, as many as 43 incidents were recorded, 26 of them were industrial incidents, and 20 of them had severe consequences. Two group accidents and six deaths during this period occurred, four of these deaths occurred on construction sites. Out of the total number of incidents, 17 were caused by an outside injury.
The most traumatic areas were industry, trade, and services, with 8 incidents each. Five incidents were recorded in the construction and transport sectors.
