(KZN.RU, December 15, Renat Shirmanov). The city development strategy was discussed at Kazan City Hall. It includes the key points that the city administration should target in the next 10-15 years, noted Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin at a meeting with professor of the St. Petersburg Branch of the Higher School of Economics, Director of the Resource Center for Strategic Planning of the Leontief Centre, Head of the Laboratory of the Institute of Regional Economy of the Russian Academy of Sciences Boris Zhikharevich.
The experts emphasized that in the updated strategy for development of Tatarstan and Kazan, the capital of the republic should position itself as a center of innovation. For this purpose, Kazan should create appropriate conditions: quality education and health care, well-developed services and security.
