Minnikhanov opens Lenin Causeway to traffic
(KZN.RU, November 29, by Ekaterina Andreyeva) The first phase of the new Lenin Causeway bridge opened in Kazan. The causeway was opened to traffic by President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov. The event was attended by Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin.
The causeway will carry traffic from Moskovsky district to the city center.
The total length of the new bridge is 172 meters, width – 46 meters, which is almost twice as wide as the old bridge. The completion of all work on such a complex object is scheduled for May 2013.
It may be recalled that in preparation for the 2013 Kazan Universiade, 11 major interchanges are under construction, eight of them, including Lenin Causeway, have been opened to traffic.
