"Plant-for-the-Planet" office to open in Kazan
(KZN.RU, November 24, Alice Rozanov). Russia's first office of the nonprofit environmental fund «Plant-for-the-Planet» may open in Kazan. This was stated by the young founder of the worldwide tree planting movement under the auspices of the UN Felix Finkbeiner at a meeting with Kazan students.
Felix Finkbayner, together with Ilsur Metshin and Kazan students – environmental activists – planted his first tree near “Ekiyat” Tatar State Puppet Theater. The Bavarian schoolboy thanked Kazan peers who took part in the campaign. "You should believe that trees are our future. By planting trees, you benefit not only Kazan but the whole world,” said Felix Finkbeiner.
