Today, United
Cities Forum is coming to an end in Kazan. Ilsur Metshin, the Mayor of the
capital of the republic of Tatarstan, met with the largest delegation at the
Kazan Expo – 14 representatives of Kyrgyzstan, including 10 mayors and
vice-mayors. The parties discussed the activities of municipalities and
cooperation.
“Our city is very
young – it is only 25 years old, – said the Mayor of Batken, Imamnazar
Burkanov. – It is the most remote, borders with Tajikistan and Uzbekistan. The
population is 35 thousand people. It had a borderline status, so many people
live in villages and do not register.”
Mayor Chingiz
Babayev talked about Karakol. This is a tourist town, which is visited by an
average of 2 million tourists per year. Nearby, there is a ski base and Lake
Issyk-Kul, which does not freeze even in winter, tourist come year-round. There
are 153 hotels, the construction of the airport will be completed in October.
Ilsur Metshin
proposed to launch flights between Kazan and Karakol after the opening of the
air harbor.
“I want to thank

guests. – We shared the experience of our city. We managed to improve our
regulatory framework, prescribed single regulations of landscaping work. We

United Cities Forum started in Kazan the day before. It is held as part of the
first international forum “ROSTKI: Russia - China mutually beneficial
cooperation”. Ilsur Metshin and Chines Consul General in Kazan Xiang Bo
welcomed the participants at the opening in the City Hall.
