New summer sports season has started in the capital of Tatarstan. It is
planned to hold the Kazan Marathon, beach and sailing competitions, triathlon,
as well as competitions among young football and basketball players. All sports
events this year are timed to the 10th anniversary of the World Summer
Universiade. This was announced at the Business Monday meeting by the Head of
the Committee of Physical Culture and Sports of Kazan Linar Garipov.
“Our infrastructure is in demand all year round. We are very proud of the Kazan Marathon, which attracts participants from all over the country,”- said the Mayor of Kazan I. Metshin.
The Kazan Marathon will be held on May 27 and 28, it brings together more than 10 thousand participants every year. “This is a running tour of the main sights of the city. Routes of 42, 21, 10 and 3 km distances will pass along major attractions and will give participants an excellent opportunity to recharge for the upcoming running season,”- explained Linar Garipov.
Tomorrow, competitions in four age groups of the Golden Puck All-Russian tournament will begin. Sixteen teams from all over the country will take part in it.
On May 18, the final of the tournament and a Gala match will take place at the Sports Palace. The Mayor of the city wished luck to the Ak Bure team from Kazan and addressed the organizers of the competition: “I ask the sports committee and the heads of districts to support our children. This is the case when at home even the walls help, as well as the support of the fans, - the Mayor said. - I also ask to organize a sports festival for children to remember Kazan and the event. We would like pro-active and sporty children and young people to come to Kazan, choose our city as their place of study and life.”
On June 4, the capital of Tatarstan will join the annual running marathon– 150 thousand across the country will simultaneously start in the Race of the Russian Federation. On July 15, the Night Kazan race will take place, the route of which will take place along the Kremlin Embankment. Participants will be able to enjoy not only the festive atmosphere, but also the stunning view of the night city.
