By the end of August, the construction of the Great Kazan Ring road on the
section at Mekhovshchikov st. from Magistralnaya st. to Devyataev Street is
planned to be completed in the capital of Tatarstan. Now the work is on
schedule, about 40 vehicles and over 60 workers are involved in the facility
every day. The Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin inspected the progress of
construction.
To date, work
has been completed on the transfer and installation of storm water and water
supply systems. Workers extract the grooves and begin backfilling the soil. In
the near future, the transfer of the remaining gas communications and power
supply networks will begin, Ayrat Minnullin, a representative of the contract
organization Volgadorstroy, told the Mayor. “It remains to move 457 meters of
gas pipes and 12 km of low-current systems. All the necessary materials have
already been purchased, and construction work on this section of the road will
be completed by August 30”, - he noted. Forty-four vehicles, 12 engineering and
technical specialists and 50 workers work at the facility every day.
The new section
of road will become an important part of the Great Kazan Ring road, and opens
up great prospects for the development of the city. For reference, the project
of the first stage of development of the coastal territory, where Portovaya,
Devyataev and Mekhovshchikov streets are located, has already been approved. In
addition to the above-mentioned streets, large-scale improvement of Magistralnaya
and Poperechno-Kukushkinskaya streets, as well as the territory of the Old Town
prefecture is planned.
After the
completion of the road section on Mekhovshchikov Street, residents of the city
will be able to drive from Pobedy Avenue to the River Port in a few minutes.
The Mayor of Kazan noted that the opening of a new transport corridor in this
part of the city would launch the transformation of the entire industrial zone,
while now warehouses and industrial facilities separate the growing residential
housing and the Volga. “Thanks to the construction of a new highway, the city would
be able to develop old industrial zones and open an exit to the Volga. We are
confident that in the coming years this territory will become a prosperous area
with residential neighborhoods, beautiful embankments, parks and squares, - I.Metshin
noted. – Previously, it was planned to complete the construction of this
section by November. But taking into account the great desire to quickly safeguard
local residents against the inconveniences caused by the construction of the
road, and the dynamic work of the builders, we set a goal to complete as soon
as possible”.
The Mayor also
said that work is currently underway on the design of the final segment of the Great
Kazan Ring road, which will connect Mekhovshchikov Street with the Kirovskaya
Dam. The completion of the construction of the road will significantly change
the transport situation in the city.
