I.Metshin: “The current cost of housing allows developing architecture but not just building panel houses”

The All-Russian architectural and construction forum Kazanysh opened in Kazan today. The event brought together leading architects, developers and other experts of the industry at the Ak Bars Retro Cars exhibition center. For three days, participants will share their experience and knowledge. The Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin joined the forum and took part in a plenary discussion on the theme “Architecture with character”.

Developers search for experienced architectural teams

More than 60 teams take part in the forum – these are architects from Moscow, St. Petersburg, Kazan and other cities of the country.

In Kazan, special attention is paid to the exterior design of buildings, residential complexes, and the architectural character of the city, the Mayor noted.

Today, a construction industry is developing in the city, the price of housing is increasing, which in turn allows developers to work out urban development projects in more detail and attract investors. “Today, the cost of housing allows developing architecture but not just building panel houses. You are creating and selling a lifestyle and today you will tell us about your work”, - I.Metshin addressed the forum participants.

Developers set high standards to architects and quality of the designed buildings, said Ilsiyar Tukhvatullina, Chief Architect of Kazan. “Developers search for experienced architectural teams, they understand that it is necessary to develop and move forward– she said. - It is complicated to travel around the country and meet such teams individually, so we decided to bring together all of you here. Our main task is to bring up such professionals in our city, so we invited strong teams from all over the country”.

“Architects should not agree with everything”

The development of the construction industry, as well new solutions in architecture and urban planning in Kazan and Tatarstan are particularly apparent in recent years, when all market players are forced to adapt quickly to new rules, said Tatarstan Minister of Construction, Architecture and Housing Marat Aizatullin. Thus, the concept of digital transformation of the republic has already been adopted, which, among other things, is aimed at digitalizing urban planning.

The need to move in this direction was also noted by Stanislava Boskovic, a researcher in the area of architecture and urban planning in Switzerland. She urged architects to strive for more and constantly improve their professional skills. “Architects sometimes don't realize that our task is to serve society in order to help create a better environment. Architects are people who should not agree with everything, they should be confident and promote their ideas”.

By the way, the participants of the forum – experts from different areas of the urban planning - will be able not only to share experience, but also to find new partners for cooperation. Various manufacturers from Kazan and other cities present construction materials, new technological solutions and much more at exhibition in the lobby of the exhibition center.  

Leading architects from all over Russia presented the most interesting projects to the forum participants and talked about them in more detail.
