Today, the Tatar Academic State Opera and Ballet Theater named after M. Jalil held a commemoration for the participant in the Great Patriotic War, Hero of the Soviet Union, Honorary citizen of Kazan Boris Kirillovich Kuznetsov.
A memorial service was attended by Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov, Tatarstan Prime Minister Alexei Pesoshin, Chair of State Council Farid Mukhametshin, Chief of staff of Tatarstan President Asgat Safarov, Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin and others.
The death of Hero of the Soviet Union Boris Kirillovich Kuznetsov is an incalculable loss for Tatarstan, said Rustam Minnikhanov. “Today we are paying our last respects to Boris Kirillovich Kuznetsov. A man who was the pride not only of our republic, but of the entire country. He represented our republic at all major events, including the Victory Day parade”, - Tatarstan President said.
During the ceremony, Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister Vasil Shaikhraziev read out a telegram of condolences on behalf of Russian President Vladimir Putin.
Boris Kuznetsov will be buried in Kazan at the Arsky cemetery, Tatarstan President’s Press Office reports.

Boris Kuznetsov was born in Kazan on December 26, 1925. In May 1943, he went off to war. He served as commander of the line section of the 791-artillery regiment. By the decree of the Presidium of the USSR Supreme Council of February 22, 1944, for exemplary performance in the combat operations during the warm for the courage and heroism, Sergeant Boris Kuznetsov was awarded the title of Hero of the Soviet Union, the Order of Lenin and the Gold Star medal.
