The Kasatka Olympic reserve sports school, located at
64 Richard Zorge street, opened after the renovation in Kazan. The Mayor of
Kazan Ilsur Metshin visited the renovated school and personally inspected the
quality of repairs.
In 2018, the builders completely renovated the facade
and the roof, insulated the walls, improved the heating system, and installed a
modern ventilation system. In April 2020, the second stage has started to
renovate the interior of the building. Thus, technical equipment, sewage
system, ventilation systems, pool covers, outdated water treatment equipment
were replaced.
Director of the Kasatka sports school Igor Ionov told
the head of the city that the overhaul was a major event for the school's
students and the coaching staff. Among the famous graduates of the sports
school is Yegor Kuimov, a member of the Russian national swimming team and a
candidate for the Olympic games.
“The Kasatka school has brought up and continues to train
famous champions of both Tatarstan and Russia, and this is great”, - said I.Metshin.
He also noted that every year more and more swimming pools open in the capital
of the republic of Tatarstan. “When we celebrated the Millennium of the city,
there were 20 swimming pools in Kazan, now there are 63, and we continue to
build schools with swimming pools. Much credit goes to the leadership of
republic, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov. I am glad that the children go
for sports, even if not all of them will become athletes, but the fact that
they learn to swim, lead a healthy lifestyle is great, and it should be
supported”,- I.Metshin concluded.
