In Kazan, intense
disinfection of public transport is carried out to prevent spread of the coronavirus.
Ilsur Metshin, the Mayor of Kazan, together with representatives of the city
and regional media, got acquainted with the process during a press tour.
Cleaning of
urban transport with disinfectants began on March 17 by the order of Russian
health service. Every day at each metro station, the surfaces most often
touched by passengers are wiped with an Abacteril bleach. Disinfection is
carried out by metro employees - in rubber gloves, dressing special uniform and
masks.
Ilsur
Metshin, Kazan Mayor, inspected the process of indoor surfaces cleaning.
A lot of
attention is also paid to electric vehicles. Asfan Galyavov, Director General
MUE Metroelektrotrans , told that trains
are being cleaned twice a day at terminal stations.
Metro
employees use preventive measures as well before the beginning of work. Every
time before going to the line staff takes the temperature,” – said A. Galyavov.
The Mayor
of Kazan noted the importance of preventive measures. “We pay great attention
to the sanitary readiness of municipal services to the existing challenges in
the world today. Fortunately, there is no virus in Kazan, but we continue to
monitor the situation and apply the necessary measures. The metro is one of the
congestion points, so it is important to impose preventive measures here”, - I.Metshin said.
The mayor
reminded that Kazan citizens should not forget about personal hygiene. “There
should be no panic and fear, all measures have been taken in Kazan to ensure
the safety of the population, the situation is monitored by the city
headquarters. We will cope, if everyone behaves responsibly”, - Ilsur Metshin emphasized.
Similar
measures are being taken at tram shed -1: trains are cleaned three times a day,
said Airat Safin, Director of operations at Metroelectrotrans. The health of
employees is also under special control.
For
information, the special sanitary and epidemiological
regime has been introduced in Tatarstan on behalf of Tatarstan President Rustam
Minnikhanov because of the threat of spread of the coronavirus.
