The celebration of the Republic Day and City Day began in Kazan with a karaoke contest

(KZN.RU, August 20, Ekaterina Vislavskaya). The contest of national karaoke “The voice of Our Team, the Voice of Our Yard!” was one of the first events timed to the Day of the RT and the City Day. The festive program in the districts has already begun, said Azat Abzalov, the head of the Department of Culture, at the Business Monday. Ilsur Metshin, the Mayor of Kazan, instructed the heads of the districts personally to take part in the festive events and listen to the wishes of the residents so that they could be implemented next year.

The contest of public karaoke is held in Kazan for the third time, but it is the first time on a citywide scale. The qualifying stage started on August 11 and takes place at 24 venues. Anyone can take part in the competition. “The finalists and winners of the district stages will perform on August 30 on the main stage near the Family Center “Kazan”, reminded Azat Abzalov.

The series of festive events will continue on August 28 in the park “Krylya Sovetov”, where the Aviastroitelny and Novo-Savinovsky districts’ administration will host the traditional holiday “Happy birthday, dear city!”. A concert and entertainment program was prepared, a “City of Masters”, a sports ground, children's attractions, demonstrations of aircraft modelers, and a ceremony of handing schoolbags to future first-graders will be opened.

In Vakhitovsky and Privolzhsky districts and residential areas Mirny and Otari, festive concerts with the participation of masters of arts and children's creative groups will be on the grounds in front of the houses of culture.

The yard holiday “Kazan Yards” will take place in the Sovetsky district in the micro-district Azino 1, Azino 2, Gorki, Nagorny, Voznesenskoe, and Derbyshki, as well as in parks and squares.

The holiday in the Kirovsky and Moskovsky districts will be marked by another important event. On August 29, events in honor of the 100th anniversary of Yudino Settlement will take place. “The trade of food and souvenirs, including products of folk crafts, will be organized on the festive grounds”, said the head of the Department of Culture.

“I ask heads of the districts personally to take part in all the festivities of the yard! Communicate with the residents, once again observe the mood, and listen to wishes. So that next year they can be realized, make our city more comfortable and raise to the next level”, said Ilsur Metshin, the Mayor of Kazan.

The citywide festive program is scheduled for August 30 and will begin with an annual city gala meeting in the Kazan City Hall. Entertainment activities are also planned in the city parks, the Kazan Hippodrome, Staro-Tatarskaya Sloboda, and other venues. The holiday will end with a salute.
