The celebration, dedicated to the Day of the Employee of Internal Affairs of the RF, was held in Kazan

(KZN.RU, November 10). Today, the festive event, dedicated to the Day of the Employee of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation, was held in Kazan on the site of the KRK “Pyramida”. Rustam Minnikhanov, the President of the RT, congratulated Tatarstan policemen on their professional holiday. Ilsur Metshin, the Mayor of Kazan, took part in the celebration.

“Our meetings have become a good tradition. This year is a special date, the NKVD's resolution “On the Workers' Militia” was signed 100 years ago. Over the years, law and order officers have always been at the forefront: in the harsh years of the Civil War, at the fronts and in the rear of the Great Patriotic War, during the difficult post-war period, and during the peaceful Soviet period”, said Rustam Minnikhanov in his welcoming speech.

He marked that history is constantly replenished with examples of courage and selflessness of law enforcement officers, their selfless devotion to the law and duty. Defending the interests of the country, the employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs are always the first in the line of fire in the fight against crimes, said the President of the RT. “You have tied your destiny with a heavy but noble profession often ensuring the well-being and peace of citizens with a risk to your life”.

“On this day, we bow our heads in the bright memory of the lost comrades. Their feat is an example of courage, honor, and self-sacrifice”, noted Rustam Minnikhanov.

The President of the RT addressed special words of gratitude to the veterans who made a worthy contribution to the protection of the rule of law. And now they pass their invaluable experience and best traditions to the new generation of defenders with full dedication.

Rustam Minnikhanov drew attention to the fact that the Ministry of Internal Affairs in the RT was and remains one of the best regional units in the system of internal affairs of the country. “Reducing the number of offenses is noted and the level of crime detection is growing due to your efforts. Over the years, the Tatarstan police are among the top ten regional departments of Russian internal affairs”, he said.

“You stop crimes, ensure the economic, migration security of the country, as well as the rule of law in the streets of our cities and settlements both in daily routine and during major events. Confirmation of this is the Confederations Cup, which was held in Kazan at the highest organizational level”, added the President of the RT.

According to him, the preservation of peace and safety are of the particular urgency in modern conditions. The stable situation in the republic is largely due to the employees of the Department of Internal Affairs. Rustam Minnikhanov noted that it is necessary to continue to severely suppress all terrorist attempts to destabilize the situation, not to admit even the slightest manifestations of extremism.

The main priority for all employees in the exercise of their duty should be to ensure the rule of law, respect for constitutional rights and freedoms of citizens, believes the President of the RT. And the most objective assessment is people's trust. “Law enforcement officers always have a well-deserved respect of the population. We need to cherish this trust and strengthen it daily. Citizens should be sure that they will always find support and protection from you”, he said.

Rustam Minnikhanov added that the heavy daily work to ensure public order, prevent crime, and uncover the committed crimes doesn’t go unnoticed. “The Republic has always paid and will pay special attention to your service. Congratulations!”.

Further, Rustam Minnikhanov presented state awards of the RT to the most distinguished employees of the Internal Affairs Department, reports the press service of the President of the RT.
