(KZN.RU,
September 18, Mikhail Chentsov). Today, Rustam Minnikhanov, the President of
the RT, visited a number of significant social and cultural facilities in
Kazan, where repair and restoration work is being carried out.
Rustam
Minnikhanov visited the building of the Kazan Circus, which is significant for
the capital of Tatarstan. A so-called flying saucer is an object of cultural
heritage of regional importance, which was established in 1967. The building
has decayed significantly over 50 years of active operation. Today, full-scale
repairs are being carried out there. The dismantling works have been completed,
the automatic fire extinguishing system has been settled, and the internal
water supply, sewerage, and heating system have been made by 60%. In addition,
the work on the roof of the dome has been completed by a quarter, and work on
the facade has been started.
Another
object of cultural heritage of regional importance was the next stop in the
on-site workshop. It is the building of the Museum of the History of Tatar
Literature on Ostrovsky Street, №15, where Sharif Kamal, a writer and a classic
of Tatar literature, lived from 1928 to 1942. Construction, installation, and
other work on major repairs there are at the final stage, after which the
builders will be able to begin finishing work. The staff of the museum addressed
to the President of the RT with a request to assist in the arrangement of the
courtyard, which is currently in municipal ownership.
Rustam
Minnikhanov took control of this issue. The President of the RT also urged the
museum's management to actively participate in the development of the
institution and attract potential sponsors.
Then the
President visited the literary museum of Gabdulla Tukay, where restoration
works are being conducted. The general contractor assured Rustam Minnikhanov
that the building will be delivered by the new year. Now the main repair work
is completely finished in a two-storey building (an object of cultural heritage
of regional importance) with an area of 530 square meters.
Rustam
Minnikhanov appreciated the work done and noted that the builders need to speed
up to make it in time. The President of the RT also drew attention to the
square nearby to the literary museum, which needs to be landscaped. “This
square should be attractive so that people come here”, marked Rustam Minnikhanov.
Also, the
head of the Republic together with the working group visited the “House of
Safha Bakhteev”, which is located next to the museum of G. Tukay. The monument
of history and architecture, built in 1903-1906 by S. Bakhteev, the merchant of
manufactory and haberdashery, is located on the territory of the
Staro-Tatarskaya Sloboda and is a unique monument of Tatar folk architecture.
“What a good house. Perfect! It needs to be included in the routes, let the
tourists come here”, said the President and instructed to study the issue of
the possible establishment of a tourist complex.
Rustam
Minnikhanov also visited the children's polyclinic №2, where the overhaul is
underway, and the city hospital №18, which is also awaiting renewal. In
addition, he inspected the land plot in the Kirovsky district of Kazan (the
territory of the former artillery warehouses), allocated for the perspective
residential development “Serebryany Bor”.
During the
inspection, the head of the Republic of Tatarstan got acquainted with the
overhaul progress of the street and road network of Kazan. By the end of the
year, twice as many yards and 5 times more streets than planned are being
repaired in the city.
