(KZN.RU,
August 22, Mikhail Chentsov). Ilsur Metshin, the Mayor of Kazan, visited today
a nine-story residential building №52 on Chuikov Street, where flooding of 28
apartments and staircases occurred during the work on replacing the roofing
during storm rains. I. Metshin talked with the inhabitants and instructed the
contractor to complete the repairs of the affected apartments timely and to
apologize.
Yesterday
at the Business Monday, Ilsur Metshin promised to personally inspect how work
is being done to recover damages to the owners of flooded apartments,
commenting on the report about the results of an overhaul. It was revealed in
the survey of all apartments that the flooding was confirmed by 28 of them, the
rest of the appeals concerned flooding of staircases. For today, certain
decisions have already been taken on 25 apartments, and the tenants of three
more apartments are away at the moment.
The Mayor
looked into one of the affected apartments to find out from the owners whether
the accepted arrangements for damages were being fulfilled. Iskander
Giniyatullin, the deputy head of the Executive Committee and the chairman of
the Committee for Housing and Communal Services, Albert Bikmullin, the first
deputy head of the Aviastroitelny and Novo-Savinovsky districts’
administration, Marat Nuriev, the general director of the MC “Uyutny Dom”, and
Niyaz Iskhanov, the director of the contract organization OOO “Nur”,
accompanied the Mayor.
The owners
of the apartment Rafkat and Raisa Mukhamedovs, who have lived in the house on
Chuikov Street for more than 30 years, noted in a conversation with Ilsur
Metshin that they were generally satisfied with the contractor's workers and
the overhaul carried out by them. “If there weren’t so many flooded
apartments... But still, our assessment is “good”, said the head of the family.
According to him, the main leaks have occurred in the kitchen and corridor but
the contractor has already purchased all the necessary materials and will begin
repairs on next Thursday.
N. Iskhanov
noted that the leaks occurred, first of all, because of severe weather
conditions. “We did everything they could. It is the first year with such
situation, before that we did not fail in overhaul. As it all happened, we
immediately agreed with all the residents to repair the damage”, he said and
added that the company will try to develop a new technology so that the leaks
do not happen again. N. Iskhanov also promised to carry out all the restoration
work by September.
Ilsur
Metshin assured the couple that all the work on the restoration of the
apartment will be carried out as quickly as possible. “There was an awning but
it was torn. In any case, it does not look well for contractors or us, people
who are responsible for an overhaul in the city. So I would like to apologize.
We are repairing 130 houses. Your house is one of the few where the force
majeure happened”, said the Mayor of Kazan.
The repair
of cold and hot water supply and sewerage systems is completed, the weather
adjustment unit is installed by the forces of the OAO “Kazenergoservis”, and
works on the façade, basements, electricity supply and roofing renovation are
completed by 90 % in the house, which will be 40 years old this year (built in
1977).
Pensioner
Minnigul Zalyalieva, another resident of the house №52 on Chuikov Street, told
the Mayor that she and her neighbors are happy with the changes. “We would like
to thank the entire team, all employees, because they work was quick, clean and
well”, she said to the Mayor.
“I remember
this house very well before and after repair. The difference, of course, is
great. We have already got used to hearing nothing except words of gratitude on
any objects, no matter how complicated they were. It is clear that there were
severe weather conditions but in any case, experienced builders should have
been prepared for this”, I. Metshin expressed his opinion.
During
prolonged rains, apartments in building on Mir Street, №13, Energetikov Street,
№5, Prospect Yamasheva, №88, and Safiullina Street, №24 were damaged. The
owners of the apartments will be compensated for damage through insurance of
contractors, or receive the renovation of premises by contractors at the
request of the residents themselves. Acts for assessing the damage have already
been drawn up, and all compensation will be made before the houses are
delivered.
