(KZN.RU, July 3). The third gastronomic festival “Delicious
Kazan” will be held in the capital of Tatarstan on July 7-99. This year, the
holiday of delicious food will take place on a new site: in the Millennium
Park. Daria Sannikova, the director of the Tourism Promotion Committee, spoke
about the program of the event at the Business Monday in the Kazan City Hall.
She noted that the festival has already entered the top 10
popular gastronomic and culinary festivals of Russia and is included in the
Russian calendar of tourist events for 2017, despite the fact that it will be
held only for the third time. Ilsur Metshin, the Mayor of Kazan, highly estimated
this achievement and marked that it must be carried on further. “To get into
the top ten Russian gastronomic festivals in just the third year of existence
is a good start. But this requires a lot. We must raise the bar every time we
invite people to this festival”, said the Mayor.
Daria Sannikova said that the main purpose of the festival
is to popularize the Tatar national cuisine, develop a food culture, and to
show a wide variety of menu, culinary, and cuisine formats presented in Kazan.
Moreover, the popularity of the event is growing every year. In 2015, when the
festival was held for the first time, it was visited by about 22 thousand
people. In 2016, the number of visitors increased to 29 thousand, and this year
the organizers expect more than 30 thousand residents and visitors of the city.
10 themed sites will be organized for visitors. “Delicious
Tatarstan” with dishes of Tatar national cuisine and a zone with street food,
burgers, and fresh are among them. According to the director of the committee,
more than 50 food enterprises will work at the festival, including from other
cities as well. This year, there will be more nonresident participants than in
the past one by 40%. Visitors will be offered to choose the best joint in the
city.
For the first time, a market, at which guests can buy products
of local producers, will appear at the festival. “Visitors are invited to daily
master classes in the preparation of echpechmaks (triangles), burgers,
flavorous coffee”, said Daria Sannikova. Also, there will be educational
actions on a theme of a proper meal for visitors, master classes on a
photography, and “gastronomic theater”, a show in the preparation of national
Tatar dishes on the main stage. A children's playground and a seating area for
80 persons will be provided. During the day, visitors will hear live music, and
in the evenings, there will be concerts of famous performers of Tatar national
modern music.
I. Metshin called the festival an excellent form of
presentation of restaurants, cafes, catering points. “I am glad that not only
the quantity but also the geography of the participants is growing”, said the
Mayor of Kazan. He noted that the national cuisine, which will tell about
traditions and culture of Tatarstan, should be a priority but any other new
forms are welcomed.
The head of the city marked that it is necessary to create
all the opportunities for the chefs to show their skills at the festival. “It
is a perfect event for a family holiday, no age restrictions. You can come with
parents and grandparents, relax with children and grandchildren”, I. Metshin
summed up and wished organizers a successful event.
