The winners of the republican contest “Philanthropist-2016” were awarded in Kazan

(KZN.RU, April 29). Rustam Minnikhanov, the President of the RT, awarded the winners of the republican contest “Philanthropist-2016” today. The event was held at the site of the KRK “Pyramida”. Mintimer Shaimiev, the State Councilor of the RT, Alexei Pesoshin, the Prime Minister of the RT, Farid Mukhametshin, the chairman of the State Council of the RT, Ilsur Metshin, the Mayor of Kazan, heads of republican ministries and departments, deputies of the State Council of the RT, representatives of the Office of the President of the RT, Cabinet of Ministers of the RT, and different public organizations took part in the ceremony.

In his welcoming speech, Rustam Minnikhanov highly appreciated the activities of Tatarstan philanthropists. He noted that gratuitous support of socially significant projects, assistance to needy citizens has always existed in Tatarstan both in the pre-revolutionary years and in the Soviet era. Today, thousands of people are involved in this noble mission.

The head of the republic noted that great changes followed after the restoration of the Annunciation Cathedral and the Kul-Sharif Mosque in Kazan under the leadership of Mintimer Shaimiev, the first President of Tatarstan. “Then, entrepreneurs and ordinary citizens actively joined”, said R. Minnikhanov. Also, the President of the RT highly appreciated the activities of Mintimer Shaimiev as the chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Republican Foundation “Vozrozhdenie”.

The President marked that the holding of today's event is also necessary in order to tell the citizens of the republic of concerned citizens and their good deeds. “Our exemplary large families, business leaders, businessmen, and many others gathered in this room. I want to sincerely thank you for your contribution to this great cause”, Rustam Minnikhanov addressed the contest participants. He also noted that the “Philanthropist of the Year” will continue to be held and expressed confidence that the number of its participants will also grow, reports the Tatarstan Government Portal.

Mintimer Shaimiev, State Councilor of the RT, presented awards to the winners in the nomination “Large and Medium Business”. Alexei Pesoshin, the Prime Minister of the RT, also congratulated the benefactors of the year. Winners in the nomination “Small Business Enterprises” received awards from the hands of the head of the Tatarstan Government.
