Action of memory "Immortal regiment" has collected 45 thousand participants in Kazan
(Kazan City KZN.RU, May 9, Zilya Gayfi). 45 thousand of Kazan residents gathered today in the city center on the action "Immortal regiment", dedicated to the 71th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War. Large-scale procession was attended by President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov, State Counsellor Mintimer Shaimiev, Chairman of Tatarstan State Council Farid Mukhametshin, Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin, as well as representatives of ministries and departments of the republic, the city Executive Committee.
Procession of the column "Immortal regiment" in the capital of Tatarstan has passed along the route from the NCC "Kazan", in Pushkin Street, Freedom Square, st. Lobachevsky, st. Kremlevskaya, Chernyshevsky street and to the May 1 Square. The procession began to the music of the Hymn of the regiment, 560 children - participants of the All-Russian youth educational collection of military sports organizations and cadet schools "Soyuz-2016" led the column. The Regional Youth Public Organization "Union" Fatherland", pupils of schools, students of universities and colleges and just indifferent residents of the city marched with photographic portraits of fallen soldiers from among their relatives.
Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin went to the march with his children. Alia and Tagir Metshins carried portraits of their grandfathers and great grandfathers, veterans of the Great Patriotic War - Metshin Muzagit Muhametshevich, Sharifullin Nurulla Sharifullovich and Gizatullin Nurmei Zinnatovich.
The action "Immortal regiment" was held today in all cities of the republic. According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, about 45 thousand people attended the march in Kazan. Recall, the capital of Tatarstan joined the action in 2014, when 300 people participated in it. Last year, over three thousand participants went in the procession.
In total this year more than 20 million Russians are involved in the campaign “Immortal regiment”, the action takes place in almost every city in the country. Every year the event gets larger and today it has the status of international.
