KZN.RU, February 11, Anton Nozdrin). Today in Kazan a new low-floor designs
tram appeared at route №5. Total in 2016 10 new trams will be put into
operation in the capital of Tatarstan. The Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin praised
comfort of one of the most environmentally friendly modes of transport together
with the first passengers.
According
to the Mayor, a significant replenishment of the rolling stock was made
possible by the decision of the President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam
Minnikhanov, who has supported the development of the city transport system.
So, before April 20, another 9 new trams of this model will come to the capital
of Tatarstan, replenishment of 40 trolleybuses is also expected.
"New trams
are much better than the previous ones - the director of the MUE "Metroelektrotrans"
Asfan Galyavov said, who accompanied the Mayor. – There are Wi-Fi network,
electronic scoreboards and television, through which we can inform the
passengers about the safety action when terrorist threats or simply show
entertaining videos on the road, in the car".
In
addition, as it was noted in the MUE "Metroelektrotrans", low-floor
wagon design makes trams more convenient for all categories of the population:
children, physically challenged people, wheelchair users. Since 2013 the city
rolling stock was added with 40 new trams: in 2013 the tram fleet was replenished
with model ACSM 84300M (5 pcs.) and ACSM 62103 (10 pcs.), in 2014 - AKSM84300M
(15pcs.) and AKSM62103 (10pcs.).

Mayor spoke with the passengers. As it was noted by the residents of Kazan,
tram is one of the most convenient modes of transport, route №5 cars go quite
often and quickly. Passengers have expressed the wish that the trams adhere to
the timetable and cruised regularly in the future.
The Mayor noted
that it is the development of the transport sector allows Kazan to improve its
position in the environmental rating. "The future is for public transport
and especially for environmentally friendly modes of transport such as trams,
trolley buses, metro," - I. Metshin reminded.
According
to the Committee on Transport of the city, the capital of Tatarstan is still
the city of the Russian Federation, having one of the youngest rolling stock
that consists entirely of low-floor cars. Total in 2015 urban passenger
transport carried 252.4 million passengers, of which tram - 17.5 million.
Note that
in the future the MUE "Metroelektrotrans" plans of continue the
rolling of the stock, which will improve the quality of service of the city's
population, increase road safety and reduce the negative impact on the
environment. This year appearance of 40 new trolley buses is also planned as
part of the Russian Federation subsidy program for the purchase of rolling of
the stock of urban electric transport.
