(KZN.RU, March 16, Taisiya Basharkina). Staro-Tatarskaya Sloboda reconstruction begins from Yunusovskaya Square located in the historical part of the city, on the crossing of F.Karim and G. Tukay streets. Such a decision has been taken by Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin during the offsite meeting along Staro-Tatarskaya territory.
Tatyana Prokofyeva, Chief Architect of Kazan, Ruslan Shakirov, Deputy Head of the Executive Committee, Olga Avksentyeva, Head of the Architecture and City-Planning Department, Farida Zabirova, Deputy Chairperson of the Russian protection of historical and cultural monuments, Nuraniya Biktimirova, Deputy Chairperson of the Board of long-term residents of Staro-Tatarskaya Sloboda, and others participated in the meeting.
YunusovskayaSquareisacenterofStaro-TatarskayaSloboda, says Nuraniya Biktimirova. Historically there were four parks. Everyone had its concept and the name however now they are in a neglect condition. “YunusovskayaSquare was lapped in beautiful parks, groomed flowerbeds”, N. Biktimirova remembers.
“If we find energy, attract investors, so reconstruction of Staro-TatarskayaSloboda begins from the particular square”, Mayor summed up.
Besides the reconstruction of the square, it is planned to recreate lost houses on Tukay Street, making an entire historical view of the capital.
