(KZN.RU,
July 9, Adelia Galieva). The opening of reconstructed park in the Soviet area of
Kazan will be a gift for the Day of the City for residents. The recreation area
will be completely transformed and will receive its unique historical feature -
a milestone that marks the beginning of the Siberian tract. Mayor Ilsur Metshin
inspected the work on the reconstruction of the square. He noted that such comfortable
areas nearby living places should be available in every district of the city in
the near future.
Taking into
consideration the special relationship of the citizens to the square,
the designers have tried to preserve its features in the development plan, to make
it as comfortable and open as possible.
Where a Soviet-era
poster located earlier, the organizers have created arches for vertical
landscaping, which will give a good shadow protection. There the benches,
decorated with wooden beams, also were installed. The Mayor approved the changes: "So, of
course, the square will become much more comfortable, more chamber".
Improvement
works scheduled to be completed by the end of August.
Drawing attention
to a phone booth in the Soviet style, Ilsur Metshin pointed out how important
it is to preserve historically significant elements beloved by the citizens.
"In London red telephone booths, along with the double-decker buses are symbols
of the city. So it’s good that forgotten old things revive here. And the milepost
- Siberian highway began here – is a good symbol, "- said the Mayor. The
approval of the Mayor also got the fact that the modern requirements were considered:
Wi-Fi, telephony, video communications. "It's a safety issue. It’s especially
important here because of heavy traffic nearby, "- stressed the Mayor.
"We
say that there are 132 parks with total area of 276 hectares in Kazan, of
which 32 objects with area of 146 hectares are included into the approved
program of revival of urban parks of this year. But the program announced by
the President of the Republic of Tatarstan - is only the beginning. We must
already think of the new territories, new housing estates, as much areas as
possible have to be landscaped and adapted for recreational needs for Kazan citizens
and guests ", - I. Metshin outlined the planned scope of work on
improvement of urban spaces.
Now 49 sq.m
of green areas fall to share per 1 Kazan citizen with the norm of 25
sq.m. This has become possible because of the projects "100 Gardens",
"Green Record", "Blossoming Kazan" that were implemented in
recent years. It is planned that as the results of the announced Year of parks
and gardens the capital of the Republic of Tatarstan will strengthen it’s the
status of a "green city" and will become more comfortable for its
residents.
