Ilsur Metshin, "the contribution to the future of Kazan is your ideas"

Today the best educatees of children's arts and music schools, schools under the jurisdiction of the Culture Department and the Education Department, the best students and postgraduates of higher education establishments and colleges have been awarded the scholarships of the Mayor of Kazan under the results of the 2009/2010 school year.

In the CityHall 15 future artists and 15 young musicians have been awarded. Among the scholars there are postgraduates of Kazan Law Institute MIA Russia, Kazan State Technical University, KSTU of A. N. Tupolev, Kazan Financial and Economic University, Kazan State University of Culture and Arts, Kazan State University of Architecture and Engineering.

"Today Kazan is the leader among Russian cities in many regions. But paramount importance to us is the ability to create an environment in which everyone could realize himself in his favorite matter especially in our city, for example in art, science", Ilsur Metshin addressed to the gathered. "The contribution to the future of Kazan is your ideas, and I'm sure they will be the basis for further more successful development of our city. We need your opinion and active participation in solving the problems of urban economy and social sphere".

Kazan Mayor expressed his special thanks to teachers and supervisors of fellows, “there is no greater happiness for them, when a student “outgrows” his teacher, always be grateful them for what they have invested in you".

The amount of scholarship: 10 thousand rubles are for students of colleges, 20 thousand rubles are for students of higher institutions, and 30 thousand rubles are for postgraduate students.

Among the works put forward for the scholarships are mainly the researches in the urban economy and social sphere problems as well as physical and mathematical sciences. This year subjects for the research have been also proposed by subdivisions of the Executive Committee of Kazan.

The scholarships of the Mayor of Kazan for students enrolled in music and art schools subordinated to the Culture Department were established in 2003, and there were only ten scholarships. This year the number of scholars increased to 15. For the first time this year 15 students enrolled in schools of art and music subordinated to the Education Department will get the scholarships. All winners are the winners of competitions and festivals of national and international levels. Scholarships are a great motive for creativity and disclosure abilities of young talents.

The competition between students’ and postgraduates’ works for nominal scholarships of the Mayor of Kazan (earlier the Head of the Administration of Kazan) is conducted annually to encourage developments and innovation projects in the solving actual problems of municipalities in the industrial production area, transport, construction, environment, information and telecommunications infrastructure. The competition was established in 1994. One of the main conditions of the competition is the pragmatic importance of the works and their possible further realization on the territory of Kazan and the whole region.
