(Kazan, KZN.RU, May 19, by Renat Shirmanov). More than one thousand cyclists have registered to participate in the "Starry Cycle Night", to be held for the first time in Kazan on June 1. The project enjoys great popularity in the world's major cities. It is vital to ensure safe movement of the cyclists in the capital of Tatarstan. This was announced at today's Business Monday meeting by Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin.
The "Starry Cycle Night" will be held in the capital of Tatarstan on the night of May 31 to June 1 and will be organized in the framework of the international project «Velonotte International».
Chairman of the Committee for External Relations and Tourism Evgenia Lodvigova noted that over 2,000 cycle night participants are expected in Kazan, with more than a thousand having already registered on the site velonotte.com. The cyclists will start from May 1 Square at midnight June 1 and finish at 5:00 am in the square in front of the Family Center "Kazan". The cyclists will ride about 20 km, during which time they will listen to eight lectures.
Ilsur Metshin called upon those involved to ensure the safety of the ride. "This event is our first. The project is intended to attract tourists, so not only Kazan residents will take part, and their security is our first concern. I am confident that this project will be of interest to all, and it is advisable not to miss it. This is one of the activities that will acquaint the participants with the sights, cultural riches and history of Kazan. Unfortunately, we cannot implement everything the cyclists have asked for, but the implementation of the project shows that we are open to cycling fans' suggestions," concluded the mayor of Kazan.
