(Kazan, KZN.RU, May 8, by Zilya Gafiyatullina) A new musical background for the "singing fountains" at the square in front of the Kamal theater has been composed. Kazan Mayor Ilsur Metshin listened to selected tracks and launched one of the city's largest fountain complexes.
The Sofia Gubaidulina Center for Contemporary Music together with the RT Union of Composers and city music schools have prepared a new musical setting for the "singing fountains". The soundtrack includes original Tatar classics by Salikh Saydashev, Farid Yarullin, Nazib Zhiganov, Alexander Klyucharev, Almaz Monasypov and Renat Yenikeyev, as well as works by young Kazan composers Elmir Nizamov and Radik Salimov, performed by symphony orchestras. Kazan residents will also be able to hear Tatar folk songs in modern arrangements.
The soundtrack consists of eight parts, each lasting 30-40 minutes. Total playing time is 4 hours 20 minutes. The parts can follow each other sequentially or be played randomly. The music will sound every day from 11 am to 10 pm.
Ilsur Metshin was showed the fountains playing to the musical accompaniment. "Thank you for taking the initiative; we are happy to support it. The classical music is sure to appeal to both locals and visitors and to promote good taste in our children and young people," said the Mayor.
