Ilsur Metshin: "We must maximize the WorldSkills Russia potential"
(Kazan, KZN.RU, April 14, by Renat Shirmanov). From May 16 to 20, Kazan will host the WorldSkills Russian national championship. The event will become an important step before the city can apply to host the 2019 WorldSkills International Championship. This was announced by Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin at today's Business Monday meeting.
WorldSkills International is a non-profit association that aims to improve the standards of training and promotion of workers' occupations. The association includes numerous countries of the world. Russia was admitted to the Association in 2012 and became the 60th participating country.
This year, the national championship of blue-collar occupations will be held in Kazan. "This is a general competition before applying to host the world championship of professional skills in 2019. We are interested not only in sports and want Kazan to host various world events that leave a legacy, whether it's roads and interchanges or interest in trades. We need to maximize the potential of this event," said Ilsur Metshin .
